JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin a 1.6 mile resurfacing project on Interstate 435 from Route 24 to 23rd Street beginning Monday, May 1. The work is scheduled to complete this Fall. In addition to holidays, MoDOT will be attentive to the Royal’s baseball schedule and try to accommodate work for home games accordingly. Any work requiring a reduction in the number of lanes will be completed during night time hours when possible. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
