Work to seal the shoulders on Interstate 70 in Callaway and Boone counties will take place at night next week, weather permitting. This will be a moving operation covering about 30 miles, so motorists will encounter slow moving vehicles in the work areas.
The preventative maintenance work, which will extend the life of the shoulders, will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on westbound I-70 in Callaway County on Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 3. The sealing will switch to eastbound I-70 in Callaway County on Thursday, May 4. The operation will then move to both eastbound and westbound I-70 in Boone County on Friday, May 5.
