ST. LOUIS – Southbound Interstate 55 is closed at Butler Hill closing off access between St. Louis and Jefferson counties. Northbound I-55 remains open but is expected to close soon. When it closes, northbound will be closed at Richardson Road.
Route 141 at Romaine Creek and Route 21 at the Meramec River are also closed.
At this time Route 61/67/Lemay Ferry/JeffCo Boulevard and Route 231/Telegraph are open. MoDOT is optimistic one lane in each direction will stay open on these bridges but is continuing to monitor the rising waters near those roads.
Other closures around the St. Louis region include:
- I-44 between I-270 in St. Louis County and Route 100/Gray Summit in Franklin County. Local traffic only is allowed westbound to Bowles and eastbound to Pacific, Eureka and Route 109. Interstate traffic cannot get through this area. Route 100 remains the alternate route for I-44 travelers but delays are up to two hours.
- Route 30/Gravois (St. Louis County) at Meramec River is closed.
- Route 109 (St. Louis County) is closed from Old State Road to Route W/FF. There is no access to I-44 from Route 109.
- Route 67 is reduced to one lane with traffic from Alton, IL into Missouri between the Mississippi River and Missouri River.
- Route 141 at I-44 in St. Louis County is closed and will remain closed most of the week.
Missourians should take these precautions in areas affected by flooding. Never drive past a barricade closing flooded roads. They are there to protect you. Don’t drive through water. Turn around, don’t drown.
