JACKSON AND CASS COUNTIES – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have multiple closures of the left lanes of both northbound and southbound Interstate 49 beginning on Thursday, May 4, at 8 p.m. until Saturday, May 6, at 7 a.m. The closures are for girder work. All work is weather permitting.
- The left lane of northbound I-49 between 163rd Street and Route 150 will be closed for girder staging on Thursday, May 4, at 8 p.m. until Friday, May 5, at 5 a.m. Beginning at 9 p.m. on Thursday evening, the left two lanes of I-49 will be closed and traffic will be shifted to the northbound off ramp and back down the on ramp to northbound I-49.
- The two left lanes of southbound I-49 between Route 150 and 163rd Street will be closed beginning Thursday, May 4, at 10 p.m. until Friday, May 5, at 7 a.m. for girder setting.
- The two left lanes of southbound I-49 between Route 150 and 163rd Street will be closed beginning Friday, May 5, at 10:30 p.m. until Saturday, May 6, at 7 a.m. for girder setting. Traffic will be shifted to the southbound off ramp and back down the on ramp to southbound I-49.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway
