Nighttime Lane Closings Planned for Route 60 (James River Freeway)

Through Springfield Starting Week of May 8

Greene County – Drivers can expect nighttime lane closings on Route 60 (James River Freeway) in Springfield starting the week of May 8, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will use a diamond-grinding process to smooth the concrete pavement on Route 60 between Kansas Expressway (Route 13) and Route 65.

The work will take place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday the week of May 8.  After that, crews will work at night Sunday to Thursday.

People living along Route 60 can expect noise during nighttime hours where crews are working. However, the work will be continually moving to a new location each night.

The project is scheduled for completion by November 1.  However, the contractor expects to complete the work by mid-June.

The prime contractor on the project is Chester Bross Construction Company of Hannibal, doing the work for a low bid amount of $446,102.
