Road Improvement Contracts Awarded for Washington and Crawford Counties

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded projects to improve Missouri Route 8 in two mid-Missouri counties.

Microsurfacing Contractors received the contract to resurface nine miles of Route 8 between the Meramec River and Route 19 in Crawford County. The low bid for the contract was $723,956. In a separate contract, 19 miles of Route 8 will be resurfaced between Route AA in Washington County and the St. Francois County line. The low bid for that contract was awarded to Pace Construction Company for $3,198,000.

Work on each project will take place this summer. Occasional temporary lane and entrance closures are possible in the work areas.
