JACKSON COUNTY – Due to scheduled work on westbound I-670 this weekend, visitors who may be staying in the downtown area of Kansas City to attend events at Kansas Speedway could be impacted. Motorists are encouraged to use the north side of the downtown loop for access to the Kansas side. Westbound traffic may use westbound I-70 or westbound I-35 around the north side of the downtown loop.
Scheduled Work Includes:
Crews will CLOSE the westbound lanes of I-670 through the south side of the downtown loop from Troost Ave. through Summit St., beginning Friday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m. and continue until Monday, May 15, at 5 a.m.
All ramps leading onto I-670 on the south side of the downtown loop will be CLOSED.
The closure is for roadway resurfacing.
All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
