Smoother Roads Ahead

UNIONVILLE, Mo. – Those who live on and drive some routes around Mercer, Putnam and Sullivan counties will soon be riding on a smoother surface. Resurfacing projects are planned on Route B in Mercer County, Routes 149 and W in Putnam County, and Route C in Sullivan County. Contractors from W.L. Miller Company of Hamilton, Illinois, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to begin resurfacing Mercer County Route B on Tuesday, May 30. There will be single lane closures around the work, which will extend from the Iowa line to U.S. Route 36.

After Route B, they will move to Sullivan County Route C between Business Loop 5 in Milan and Route 129 before moving to the two routes in Putnam County. The work will all take place between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

The contractor plans to have all work completed by the end of August, weather permitting.

Schedules are subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
