PLATTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the right lanes of northbound and southbound I-29 at the 72nd St. interchange beginning 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 and continuing through Thursday, May 25 for new pavement work. This will be a 24/7 closure. Two lanes on I-29 will still remain open at this location. The northbound and southbound on-ramps at 72nd St. will be closed. The off-ramps at 72nd St. will remain open. Originally, all of the ramps were said to be closed. All work is weather dependent.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
