LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 470 between Douglas Street and Route 291 beginning Friday, May 19, at 8 p.m. until approximately Monday morning, May 22, at 4 a.m. This closure is for the demolition of the north half of the Colbern Road bridge over I-470. Traffic on Colbern Road will be head to head on the south part of the bridge as the north part of the bridge is demolished. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
