MoDOT Markets Two Excess Parcels in Sikeston

SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation is currently accepting bids for two excess tracts of land in Sikeston, Mo. The parcels are located adjacent to each other at the intersection of Route AA and Lynual Street.

Parcel SE0705A is a 7.88-acre tract of land with excellent visibility from Route 60, Route AA and access to Lynual Street in Sikeston. This site is triangular shaped with 1,393 feet fronting Route 60 and 1,195 feet fronting Lynual Street, with the east side being approximately 581 feet along a ditch. Available utilities include AT&T, Charter, Lightcore, Liberty and Sikeston Municipal. Access to Lynual Street is available along the southern side of the property.

Parcel SE0705B is a 4.79-acre tract of land with excellent visibility from Route 60, Route AA and access to Lynual Street in Sikeston. This site is rectangular shaped with 319 feet fronting Route 60, 692 feet fronting Route AA and 402 feet fronting Lynual Street, with the west side being approximately 581 feet along a ditch. Available utilities include AT&T, Charter, Lightcore, Liberty and Sikeston Municipal. Access to Lynual Street is available along the southern side of the property.

Sealed bids will be opened and publicly read at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 15 at MoDOT’s Southeast District Office, located at 2675 North Main Street in Sikeston, Mo.

Excess land is property that MoDOT originally acquired for a transportation project or other operational need, such as maintenance facility. The property becomes excess when the Department determines that it will no longer be necessary for a transportation project or other operational need. Proceeds from the sale of excess land are used for future transportation projects.
