Taney County – Drivers can expect nighttime lane closings and crews and equipment on sections of Route 248, Business Route 65 and Route 76 East starting in early June, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will resurface the state routes with new asphalt driving surfaces.
During the work, crews will be on the road during nighttime hours from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Because crews are working at night, noise may be an issue for people who live near one of the routes being repaved.
Here’s a look at the projects:
- Route 248 between Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and Route 65 in Branson
- Starting the week of June 5
- Grind off top layer of asphalt and lay new asphalt
- Total length: 2 miles
- Business Route 65 between the Lake Taneycomo Bridge and Route 65 in Hollister
- Starting the week of June 19
- Upgrade guardrail in areas
- Grind off top layer of asphalt and lay new asphalt
- Total length: 1.4 miles
- Route 76 between Route 65 in Branson and a point west of Route 160 east of Forsyth
- Starting week of June 26
- Add up to two-foot wide shoulders in areas
- Upgrade guardrail at bridge ends – temporary traffic signals will regulate one-lane traffic ‘round the clock during the work
- Grind off top layer of asphalt in areas and lay new asphalt
- Improve curve on Route 76 at Lakeshore Drive in Branson
- Total length: 12 miles
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. of Columbia will do the work for a low bid amount of $2.9 million.
The work is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2017. However, contractor crews expect to have the project completed by early September, barring any weather or construction delays.
