A contract approved today by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission will bring about improvements to Route 124 and Route B in Boone County.
The project will be done in three phases. The first phase will resurface and improve the shoulders on Route 124 between Missouri Route CC in Centralia and the north city limits of Hallsville. Meanwhile, similar work is planned for Route B between the south city limits of Hallsville and Brown Station Road in Columbia. Finally, pavement repairs and improvements to existing sidewalks will take place on Route B between Brown Station Road and Business Loop 70 in Columbia. The contract for the work was awarded to Chester Bross Construction, which submitted the low bid of $4,829,709.
Work is expected to begin later this summer, though a specific start date has not been set. When that date is established, MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media.
