Asphalt Resurfacing to Begin on Interstate 70 Next Week

COLUMBIA – Motorists traveling on Interstate 70 between the Missouri River bridge in Rocheport and the St. Charles Road/Lake of the Woods interchange in Columbia will see nightly lane closures beginning next week because of asphalt resurfacing work.

Paving will start Monday, June 12 in the eastbound lanes of I-70 at the Missouri River bridge in Rocheport. The work will continue nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. Once all eastbound lanes within the project limits have been resurfaced, the contractor will move to the westbound lanes. The resurfacing project will be completed in early fall.

One lane will be open at all times in each direction during the work. Signs will guide motorists through the work zone.
