MACON - Weather permitting, Wednesday, July 5, Missouri Route 16 in Lewis County will be closed to traffic for two bridge replacements west of Monticello at the North Fabius River and Middle Fabius River.
The contractor will close both bridges at the same time and work on them concurrently.
The Middle Fabius is currently signed as a one lane bridge and the North Fabius is posted one lane with temporary signals. The new bridges will be 28 feet wide, which is 8 feet wider than the existing ones, and striped as two lane.
The contractor will have 120 calendar days to complete the bridges.
Signs are in place notifying motorists of the upcoming work. Motorists will need to use alternate routes during this time. There will be no signed detour in place.
Bleigh Construction Company of Palmyra, Missouri was awarded the contract for both bridges at $2,694,682.
