Construction Delays Push Start of Business 60 RR Bridge

Replacement Project to Week of July 10

Lawrence County – Construction delays are pushing the start of a project to replace the aging Business 60 railroad bridge in Monett to the week of July 10, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Once demolition of the old bridge begins, Business 60 will be CLOSED for the duration of the project.

While closed, a detour will be set up using U.S. Route 60.  Drivers can also use Lawrence County Route W to get around the project.

The existing bridge, built in 1935, has been in need of frequent repairs in recent years.

The new bridge will be 30 feet wide and will no longer have a height restriction because the overhead truss system will be removed.
