REMINDER: Complete Closure of Southbound I-35 in Downtown Loop Expected THIS WEEKEND

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 – from Broadway through I-670 (through the west side of the downtown loop) for roadway resurfacing. The two rightmost lanes from I-670 to Cambridge Circle will be closed also. This work is beginning Friday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. through Monday, June 26, at 5 a.m. Ramps into this area will also be closed including:

 

    • Broadway to westbound I-70
    • Westbound I-70 to southbound I-35
    • Southbound I-169 to southbound I-35
    • Eastbound I-70 to southbound I-35
    • 12th Street to southbound I-35
    • 13th Street to southbound I-35,
    • Eastbound I-670 to southbound I-35
    • Broadway to southbound I-35

 

Traffic MUST find alternate routes. This work may impact Royals fans traveling from Kansas to the stadiums. For more information, please see the original press release sent on June 15. All work is weather permitting. 

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
