JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE east and westbound U.S. Highway 24 from N. Ferguson Road to N. Charlton Road overnight beginning Wednesday, July 12, at 6 p.m. through Thursday, July 13, at 6 a.m. This work was originally scheduled for June 27 but due to weather conditions, it has been rescheduled. The closure is for a bridge deck pour and there will be no through traffic on U.S. 24 under the bridge during this time. All traffic will be detoured to and over MO Route 7. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
