Work to resurface Missouri Route 133 in Pulaski, Maries and Osage counties will begin on Wednesday, July 12. Crews will begin a chip seal overlay at the intersection of Route 17 north of Crocker, then work north to the intersection of U.S. Route 63 north of Westphalia.
The work includes first seal coating the roadway surface. Gravel is then spread on top of the coating for a few days to hold the oil in place until crews sweep the roadway. Coating the surface prevents water from entering cracks in the pavement, extending the life of the highway pavement by several years.
The work zone will be active from 6 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. One lane will be open during the work. Flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area.
