Resurfacing Project Underway

STANBERRY, Mo. – Two routes in DeKalb and Gentry counties will soon see a new driving surface and shoulder improvements. Contractors from Herzog Contracting Corporation, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, have been awarded two resurfacing projects: one on Route 31 and one on U.S. Route 169. The project on Route 31 will span from U.S. Route 169 to U.S. Route 36. The U.S. Route 169 project has already begun between Stanberry and Route 31.

On Monday, July 10, the contractor began manhole adjustments on U.S. Route 169. They will begin milling off the old surface of the pavement on this route on Wednesday, July 12. Uneven lanes may be present throughout the project. The work will necessitate a lane closure throughout the project limits with a width restriction of 10 feet in the open lane. Due to the narrowed lanes and proximity of workers to the traveling public, a reduced speed limit will be in place. Workers will be on site daylight to dusk, Monday through Friday. Some weekend work may also occur. The contractor will work diligently to get this portion of the project completed in a timely manner. During this portion of the project, motorists should expect delays and may wish to use an alternate route.

Route 31 will be scheduled after the U.S. Route 169 work.

Schedules are subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
