Resurfacing project along I-29 set to happen this weekend

PLATTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close several ramps along I-29 over the weekend, which could potentially have an impact to motorists. The work is part of a resurfacing project. All work is weather dependent.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will perform the following work:

Crews will close the ramp from southbound I-29 to southbound I-635 from 7 p.m. Saturday, July 15 to 7 a.m. Sunday, July 16. Motorists will be detoured to N. Oak Trafficway and back onto I-29. Motorists can then access the ramp to southbound I-635 by using northbound I-29.

Crews will close the on-ramp from 56th St. to southbound I-29 during the same time period.

Crews will close the off-ramp from southbound I-29 to Gateway Ave. (Route A) during the same time period.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
