MoDOT to close South Highway Drive, EB I-44 ramp at Route 141 overnight July 21

ST. LOUIS – Drivers should consider alternate routes when crews close access between Route 141 and eastbound I-44 overnight Friday, July 21.

Work will start at 7 p.m. when crews will close:

  • All but one lane on the ramp from EB I-44 to Route 141, and
  • All but one lane on South Highway Drive between Route 141 and Smizer Station Road.

Crews will fully close South Highway Drive before Smizer Station at 9 p.m. and will fully close the EB I-44 ramp at 10 p.m.

During the closures, crews will be making pavement repairs to prepare the ramp and outer road for resurfacing later this summer.

To detour around the South Highway Drive closure, drivers can take Valley Drive to Smizer Station Road to get to South Highway Drive and follow it to Bowles to get onto eastbound I-44.

To detour around the ramp closure, drivers can continue east, exit at Bowles and loop back around to westbound I-44 to get to Route 141 to detour around the closure.

The ramp and South Highway Drive should reopen by 7 a.m. Saturday, July 22.
