Paving Operations Will Close a Series of Ramps and Lanes along I-435 in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have overnight closures of a series of ramps and lanes as part of paving operations along Interstate 435 on both Thursday, July 20, and Friday, July 21, beginning at 7:30 p.m. until the following mornings at 5 a.m. This is all part of a resurfacing operation on I-435 scheduled to be completed this fall. All work is weather permitting.

Closures for Thursday, July 20:

  • On ramp from 23rd St to northbound I-435
  • Fourth lane of Northbound I-435 from 23rd Street to Truman Road
  • Off ramp from southbound I-435 to Truman Road
  • On ramp from Truman Road to northbound I-435 

Closures for Friday, July 21:

  • Third lane of northbound I-435 from Truman Road to MO Highway 24
  • Off ramp from northbound I-435 to MO Highway 24
  • On ramp from MO Highway 24 to northbound I-435 
  • Off ramp from northbound I-435 to Truman Road
  • Off ramp from Truman Road to northbound I-435

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
