Webster County Route BB Scheduled to CLOSE

Monday, August 14 to Replace Finley Creek Bridge

Webster County – Webster County Route BB at the bridge over Finley Creek south of Seymour is scheduled to CLOSE early Monday morning, August 14, as work begins to replace the aging bridge, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The bridge, located five miles south of Seymour between Walnut Ridge Road and Hawthorn Road, will remain closed until late November/early December.

The existing bridge will be removed and replaced with a new, wider structure. The new bridge will be 24-feet wide, four feet wider than the existing bridge.

During the work, Route BB will remain closed. Drivers will be able to get to entrances on either side of the Finley Creek bridge, but will not be able to travel through the work zone.

Drivers are urged to use other nearby roads including Webster County Route K and Route 14 to get around the closing. No signed detour is planned.

The existing bridge was built in 1938. The bridge is in poor condition and is at the end of its useful life.
