JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be pouring the bridge deck on the north half of the Colbern Road bridge over MO Route 291 on Friday, August 4, from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. During this time, westbound Colbern Road will be CLOSED from Rice Road to the I-470 off ramp. Crews will also be CLOSING northbound MO Route 291 at midnight on Friday, August 4, to set up the concrete pump on the highway under the bridge. Northbound traffic will be allowed to exit at Colbern Road from MO Route 291, but they will be routed east at the top of the ramp. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find alternate routes if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
