Road Work for Mid-Missouri

July 31-August 11, 2017

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of July 31-August 11, 2017. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.


Boone County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 between the Missouri River Bridge and St. Charles Road – Pavement repair, guardrail repair and resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues.
       * The eastbound entrance ramp from Route 40 will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Monday, July 31.
       * Resurfacing in the eastbound lanes will continue the week of July 31. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in spring 2018.

Daylight Hours
Route 163 (Providence Road) over Hinkson Creek- Bridge maintenance in the northbound lanes will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route A between Route 63 and Second Street - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 8 and Wednesday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E between Hatton Chapel Road and Wilcox Road - Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 63 and Englewood Road - Roadway maintenance will take place on Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 63 and the Callaway County line - Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Z between Andrews Lane and Gano Chance Road - Roadway maintenance will take place on Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

I-70 Drive Northwest between Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) and Rebel Drive - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 1 and Wednesday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Route F and Route W in Cole County – Roadway resurfacing is nearing completion.
       * A High Friction Surface Treatment will be applied to the Mel Ray Curve the week of July 31. Crews will stripe the edge lines of the roadway the week of July 31. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 54 over the Middle River, east of Route BB – Bridge rehabilitation in the westbound lanes is underway. One lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route 63 over the Katy Trail, north of Jefferson City – Bridge deck replacement in the southbound lanes continues.
       * Southbound Route 63 traffic is being diverted into the northbound lanes with one lane open in both directions. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and watch for stopped traffic, backups and congestion.  The southbound bridge will be completed in mid-August. The entire project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route H over Davis Creek, east of County Road 329 – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route O over Crows Fork Creek, east of County Road 419 – Bridge deck replacement is underway. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to use Route C, Route 94 and Route CC to detour around the work. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route 54 over Richland Creek, east of County Road 209 - Bridge maintenance in the eastbound lanes will take place Monday, August 7 through Wednesday, August 9. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route A between Route B and the Audrain County line - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route PP between Route 94 and Route BB - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 7 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route A over Conns Creek, north of Richland – Bridge deck replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August. 

Route D over Bank Branch, south of Route 54 – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August. 

Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Route 7 and Cecil Street – Pedestrian improvements continue. Occasional eastbound and westbound lane closures are likely. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Daylight Hours
Route 54 between the Niangua River Bridge and Route BB in Hickory County – Resurfacing and widening to a shared four-lane roadway continues. A pilot car and flaggers will guide motorists through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route 54 between Route A and Route Y - Roadway improvements in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Monday, July 31 through Tuesday, August 8. Crews will apply a High Friction Surface Pavement Treatment designed to provide motorists with more traction in rain and snow.  One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 5 at Lake Road 5-65 - Roadway improvements will take place Monday, July 31 through Wednesday, August 2. Crews will apply a High Friction Surface Pavement Treatment designed to provide motorists with more traction in rain and snow.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F between Route 5 and the end of state maintenance – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route MM between Route HH and Route TT – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route TT between Route MM and Lakeview Resort Boulevard – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.


Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Routes J and M over Route 50 – Bridge replacement is underway. The road is closed.
       * Signed detours are in place for motorists on Route J and Route M. The bridge is scheduled to reopen to traffic in mid-August. 

Daylight Hours
Route 50/63 between Shamrock Road and the Osage River Bridge – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes and intersection improvements continue. Temporary lane closures are planned at the Shamrock and Liberty intersection the week of July 31. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.


Cooper County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route B over the Petite Saline Creek, south of Interstate 70 – Bridge deck replacement is complete. Occasional lane closures are possible the week of July 31.

Route D between Route 87 and Route O in Moniteau County - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 1 through Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Crawford County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route M over Crooked Creek, south of Keysville Road – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to use signed detour routes around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Daylight Hours
Route 8 between Route 19 and Route AA in Washington County – Roadway resurfacing continues. Striping and guardrail installation will take place the week of July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route 19 between Route O and Route P - Pavement marking will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 over Brush Creek, south of Route F – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y in Iron County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F between Interstate 44 and Route 19 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route 8 and Route YY – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route AA between Route 19 and Cherryville Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route HH between Route 19 and Ollie Coleman Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Outer Road 44 between Route KK and Route D in Franklin County – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Dent County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 32 over Dry Valley Creek, east of County Road 4245 – Bridge replacement continues.
       * Traffic has been shifted to the temporary bypass. Minimal traffic impacts will take place. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.


Gasconade County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 100 over Little Berger Creek – Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed. Motorists are advised to use the signed detour of Route 19 and Route Z to get around the closure. The bridge is scheduled to reopen in late September.

Route EE over Dry Fork Creek, north of Bem Church Road – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route F between Route 19 and Stolpe Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 19 and Route E – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route ZZ between Route 19 and the Franklin County line – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.


Howard County
Daylight Hours Route 3 between Route U and Route JJ – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 5 between Route 3 and County Road 211 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 40 over Salt Creek, west of County Road 439 - Bridge inspection will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route A between Route 124 and County Road 102 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Wednesday, August 2. The road will be closed from 6 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Route A between Route 124 and County Road 102 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Wednesday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route U between County Road 232 and County Road 247 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Tuesday, August 1. The road will be closed from 6 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Route Z between County Road 343 and County Road 351 – Roadside maintenance will take place on Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Daylight Hours
Route 5 between Sixth Street and Vance Street – Sidewalk and signal improvements continue. Occasional lane closures are possible through the work area.

Route E between Route 5 and the Dallas County line – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Wednesday, August 2 through Monday, August 7. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route HH between Route 5 and Royal Drive – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, July 31 and Tuesday, August 1. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route NN between Route E and Kettle Road – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Wednesday, August 2 and Thursday, August 3. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 


Maries County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 68 over Lanes Fork, west of County Road 439 – Bridge deck rehabilitation continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in late August.

Route HH between Route 133 and County Road 621 – Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route JJ between Route T and County Road 206 – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 1 through Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Miller County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 52 over Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation continues.
       * Westbound traffic is detoured around the work area. Crews will flag eastbound traffic through the work area.
       * Occasional eastbound and westbound lane closures on Route 54 are possible during the work. The eastbound and westbound entrance and exit ramps will remain open. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route 17 between Route 42 and Route 52 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Bluebird Circle and Cotton Road - Roadway improvements will take place Tuesday, August 8 through Thursday, August 10. Crews will apply a High Friction Surface Pavement Treatment designed to provide motorists with more traction in rain and snow.  One lane will be open through the work area.


Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Route O between Route 87 and Route J in Cooper County - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 7 through Wednesday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Morgan County
Daylight Hours
Route 52 between Route 5 and Route Y in Miller County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder work continues. One lane will be open, and flagging crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route BB between Route 135 and Buffalo Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route KK between Butterfield Trail Road and Schlobohm Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Osage County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route T over the Maries River, north of County Road 526 – Bridge deck replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route 50 between Route 89 and Route U – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 89 between Route 50 and Route 28 in Maries County – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life is underway. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area.  The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route 89 between Route 50 and Route 28 in Maries County – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 100 between Route 50 and Chamois Power Plant Road – Roadway resurfacing continues. Striping operations will take place the week of July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled to be completed in early September.

Route B between Route 133 and Lorenzo Green Drive in Cole County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder addition continues.
       * Concrete repairs and culvert replacements between Route M and Lorenzo Green Drive will continue the week of July 31. Excavation will take place the week of July 31. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.


Phelps County
Daylight Hours
Route 8 between Interstate 44 and Route 19 in Crawford County – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route 68 between Interstate 44 and Route 8 – Pedestrian improvements continue. Occasional lane closures are likely. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route F between Route 68 and County Road 4110 – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 63 and County Road 6180– Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route ZZ between Route K and County Road 6630 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Pulaski County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 7 over the Gasconade River, north of Rustler Lane – Bridge deck replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 133 between Route 17 and Route 63 in Osage County – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life continues. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area.  The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route Z between Route 28 and Route J in Phelps County – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 7 through Thursday, August 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route NN between Springer Lane and Springfield Road – Box culvert construction is underway. The road is closed in the work area. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in September. 


Washington County
Daylight Hours
Route 8 in Potosi – Pedestrian improvements continue. Occasional lane closures are likely. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route H between Route 47 and the Jefferson County line - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 31 through Thursday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
