Overnight Lane Closures along U.S. Route 50 August 8 ? 9

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have overnight lane closures on U.S. Route 50 on both Aug. 8 and Aug. 9. Crews will close the left lane of eastbound U.S. Route 50 beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8, until 5 a.m. the following morning. The westbound lanes of U.S. Route 50 will have a right lane closure beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, until 5 a.m. the following morning. The eastbound lane closures will begin approximately around 3rd Street and the westbound lane closures will begin approximately between Highway 291 and Todd George Parkway. These lane closures are so that crews can set girders for bridge construction. The closures will be accompanied by rolling stops and may halt traffic for up to fifteen minutes at a time. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
