Buffalo Creek Bridge on Missouri Route 79 to Close for Replacement

HANNIBAL – Noix Creek and Buffalo Creek Bridges, both south of Louisiana on Missouri Route 79, are being replaced this summer and fall. Noix Creek Bridge is already closed for replacement, and Buffalo Creek Bridge will close at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15th. Noix Creek Bridge is expected to be completed and open to traffic by October 1st, and Buffalo Creek Bridge is expected to be completed and to open to traffic by November 1st.

Route 79 will have closures during construction, but drivers will still be able to access all parts of it by using the detours.

“While both bridges are closed, the signed detour route is U.S. Route 54 to U.S. Route 61 near Eolia, then Pike County Route D to Pike County Route N,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner, P.E. When Noix Creek Bridge reopens to traffic, the detour route for the Buffalo Creek Bridge closure will be Pike County Route D to Pike County Route N.
