JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE the two left lanes of westbound Interstate 70 beginning at the Benton curve to just ahead of the westbound I-670/westbound I-70 split beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, until 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18 . The right lane of westbound I-670 from the westbound I-670/westbound I-70 split through just east of the 13th Street ramp will also be closed. These closures are for bridge repairs on westbound I-670 at Troost Avenue. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes if necessary as delays are expected.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
