Road Work for Mid-Missouri

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of August 14-25, 2017. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

Boone County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 between the Missouri River Bridge and St. Charles Road – Pavement repair, guardrail repair and resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues.
       * The contractor will be paving in the westbound lanes between the Lake of the Woods and the Missouri River Bridge.  Work hours are from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday-Thursday, weather permitting. Fridays will be used as a makeup day.  Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures and temporary ramp closures as work progresses.  Paving is expected to continue into early fall. One lane of traffic in each direction will be open through the overnight hours, and signs will guide motorists through the work zone.

Route 163 (Providence Road) over Hinkson Creek - Bridge maintenance in the northbound lanes will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route A between Route 63 and Second Street - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 21 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 63 and Englewood Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Wednesday, August 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 63 and the Callaway County line - Roadway maintenance will take place on Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 over the Middle River, east of Route BB – Bridge rehabilitation in the westbound lanes is underway. One lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route 63 over the Katy Trail, north of Jefferson City – The Katy Trail Bridge is open to traffic. Motorists may encounter occasional lane closures in the next few weeks as the contractor finishes the bridge deck work. The project is scheduled for completion this fall.

Route O over Crows Fork Creek, east of County Road 419 – Bridge deck replacement is underway. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to use Route C, Route 94 and Route CC to detour around the work. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route EE between Route B and County Road 1002 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight Hours
Route 54 over Richland Creek, east of County Road 209 - Bridge maintenance in the eastbound lanes will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 54 between Route 94 and Route F - Striping operations will take place the week of August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 94 between County Road 4011 East and County Road 4011 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route PP between Route 94 and Route BB - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 22 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route D over Bank Branch, south of Route 54 – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in September. 

Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Route 7 and Cecil Street – Pedestrian improvements continue. Occasional eastbound and westbound lane closures are likely. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Daylight Hours
Route 54 between the Niangua River Bridge and Route BB in Hickory County – Resurfacing and widening to a shared four-lane roadway continues. A pilot car and flaggers will guide motorists through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route F between Route 5 and the end of state maintenance – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route N between Route 54 and Knob Hollow Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 15 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route O between Route W and Teer Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 15 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route O and Geronimo Springs - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 15 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route HH and Route TT – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route TT between Route MM and Lakeview Resort Boulevard – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.


Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Routes J and M over Route 50 – Bridge is open to traffic. Some minor work and clean up remain and traffic may be reduced to a single lane with a flagging operation at various times.

Route 50/63 between Shamrock Road and the Osage River Bridge – This project to improve the intersections at Route 50/63 and Shamrock/Liberty lanes and Lisletown Road and to resurface Route 50/63 from Shamrock/Liberty Lanes to Lisletown Road is largely finished. However, some signing and guard rail work remain that might require some intermittent lane closures.


Cooper County
Daylight Hours
Route 5 between Interstate 70 and Route 50 in Morgan County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open and crews with flag motorists through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route AA between Route B and Route H - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Crawford County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route M over Crooked Creek, south of Keysville Road – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to use signed detour routes around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Daylight Hours
Route 8 between Route 19 and Route AA in Washington County – Roadway resurfacing continues. The contractor will continue working on sidewalks the week of August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route 19 between Route O and Route P - Pavement marking will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route 8 and Route PP - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y in Iron County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F between Interstate 44 and Route 19 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route 8 and Route YY – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Route J and Route 185 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 8 and Route V – Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, August 14. This will be a one-lane operation controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. 

Route AA between Route 19 and Cherryville Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Dent County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 32 over Dry Valley Creek, east of County Road 4245 – Bridge replacement continues.
       * Traffic has been shifted to the temporary bypass. Minimal traffic impacts will take place. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route CC between Route C and Route H – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Gasconade County
Daylight/Overnight Hours Route 100 over Little Berger Creek – Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed. Motorists are advised to use the signed detour of Route 19 and Route Z to get around the closure. The bridge is scheduled to reopen in late September.

Route EE over Dry Fork Creek, north of Bem Church Road – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

Route F between Route 19 and Stolpe Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 19 and Route E – Roadway resurfacing is complete. Motorists could experience possible lane closures for pavement marking and installation work. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

ZZ between Route 19 and the Franklin County line – Roadway resurfacing is complete. Motorists could experience possible lane closures for pavement marking and installation work. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.


Howard County
Overnight Hours
Route 5 between Jackson Street and Orchard Drive – Roadway resurfacing will begin on Friday, August 18 during the nighttime hours from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and continue through Monday, August 21. Motorists may encounter temporary lane closures, and are asked to follow signs, flaggers and pilot cars through the work zone.

Route 5 at Third Street – Pedestrian improvements continue. Occasional lane closures are likely. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 124 between Route A and Route Y – Roadside maintenance will take place on Monday, August 14. Once lane will be open, and crews will flag motorists through the work area.

Route H between Route 124 and County Road 202 – Roadside maintenance will take place on Wednesday, August 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between County Road 104 and County Road 128 – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Z between Route J and County Road 339 – Roadside maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Daylight Hours
Interstate 44 Bridge over Route 5 – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Friday, August 18. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 5 between Sixth Street and Vance Street – Sidewalk and signal improvements continue. Occasional lane closures are possible through the work area.

Route A between Route 32 and Route W – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, August 14 and Tuesday, August 15. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. 

Route AA between Route 64 and Kinfolk Road– Roadway maintenance will take place on Wednesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route WW between Route AA and Harvest Road– Roadway maintenance will take place on Wednesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Interstate 44 Outer Road between Dove Road and dead end – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Miller County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 52 over Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation continues. The bridge is open to traffic, but motorists will encounter narrow lanes.
       * Occasional eastbound and westbound lane closures on Route 54 are possible during the work. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route 52 between Rush Drive and Woods Road – Culvert pipe installation will take place Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 54 between Lazy Days Road and River Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 17 between Route 42 and Route 52 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Route O between Route 87 and Route J in Cooper County - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 and Tuesday, August 15. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 50 and Route AA in Cooper County - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route 5 and Route E - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 23 and Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Morgan County
Daylight Hours
Route 52 between Route 5 and Route Y in Miller County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder work continues. One lane will be open, and flagging crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

Route J between Route 5 and Route 135 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 52 between Fairground Road and West View Drive – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Osage County
Daylight Hours
Route 50 between Route 89 and Route U – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 89 between Route 50 and Route 28 in Maries County – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life is underway. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. Striping operations will begin the week of August 14. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area.  The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route 100 between Route 50 and Chamois Power Plant Road – Roadway resurfacing continues. Striping operations will take place the week of August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled to be completed in early September.

Route B between Route 133 and Lorenzo Green Drive in Cole County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder addition continues. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route C between Route 100 and Route A – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 24. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route HH between Route 89 and County Road 235 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Phelps County
Daylight Hours
Route 8 between Interstate 44 and Route 19 in Crawford County – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route 68 between Interstate 44 and Route 8 – Pedestrian improvements continue. Occasional lane closures are likely. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route F between County Road 3210 and County Road 4060 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route 63 and Route T – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 14 through Wednesday, August 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route T between Route P and Wolfpride Drive – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Wednesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Interstate 44 North Outer Road between Route J and Route D – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Wednesday, August 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Pulaski County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 7 over the Gasconade River, north of Rustler Lane – Bridge deck replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 133 between Route 17 and Route 63 in Osage County – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life continues. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Route NN between Springer Lane and Springfield Road – Box culvert construction is underway. The road is closed in the work area. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in September. 

Interstate 44 South Outer Road between Route 17 and Route H - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 16 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Washington County
Daylight Hours
Route 8 between Route AA and Germania Road – Pedestrian improvements and resurfacing continue the week of August 14. Occasional lane closures are likely. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route T between Route A and Route 185 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route N and Floyd Tower Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
