INDEPENDENCE – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have intermittent lane closures along 39th Street underneath of MO Route 291 on both Wednesday, Aug. 16 and Thursday, Aug. 17 beginning at 8 p.m. through 6:30 a.m. the following mornings. The ramps for the 39th Street interchange will also be closed at various times of the night for resurfacing. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
