LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 470 between Douglas Street and Route 291 beginning Friday, Aug. 25, at 8 p.m. until approximately Monday morning, Aug. 28, at 4 a.m. This closure is for the demolition of the south half of the Colbern Road bridge over I-470. Traffic on Colbern Road will be shifted to one lane in each direction on the north part of the bridge as the south part of the bridge is demolished. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.
- Westbound traffic must exit I-470 at either MO Route 291 or onto Colbern Road or before.
- Eastbound traffic must exit I-470 at Douglas Street or before.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
