Resurfacing to Close One Lane on Route 5 in Camdenton

CAMDENTON – A resurfacing operation will close one lane in each directon of Missouri Route 5 on Tuesday, Aug. 29 between the Pier 31 Road exit and Harvest Road in Camdenton.

Work will take place from 6 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and one lane will be open through the work area at all times. The work will also close the Pier 31 exit ramp from southbound Route 5 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Flag crews and pilot cars will guide motorists through the work zones. Pilot cars help motorists safely navigate through work zones that might include equipment crossings, difficult crossroads, lane changes or other obstacles.

Here’s how it works: At each end of the work zone, a flagger will stop traffic until the pilot car is ready to lead vehicles through the work area. The pilot car will then guide vehicles safely through the work zone and will pull off the road at the end of the work zone to allow the travelers to continue on their way. The car will then repeat the process, traveling in the other direction.

Changeable message boards are in place near the work zones to notify the public.
