ROUTE 65 REBUILD TRAFFIC ALERT:

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT EASTGATE AND CHERRY & EASTGATE AND CATALPA FLASHING RED IN ALL FOUR DIRECTIONS

NIGHTTIME RAMP CLOSINGS ON NORTHBOUND ROUTE 65 AT DIVISION STREET AUGUST 29 AND AUGUST 30

WHAT’S HAPPENING:  

• The temporary traffic signals on Eastgate Avenue and Cherry Street and Eastgate Avenue and Catalpa Street flashing red in all four directions; the temporary traffic signal at LeCompte Road and Division Street will remain in full operation
• All three signals will be removed starting on Wednesday, August 30
• Northbound Route 65 ramps at Division Street closed Tuesday and Wednesday nights for pavement smoothing 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS:  

• TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNALS:
  • Four-way stop at Eastgate Avenue & Cherry Street and at Eastgate Avenue & Catalpa Street
  • LeCompte Road & Division Street will remain in full operation
  • All three signals removed starting Wednesday, August 30
• RAMP CLOSINGS:
• Northbound Route 65 ramp to Division Street CLOSED. Work hours: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday, August 29.
• Division Street to northbound Route 65 ramp CLOSED. Work hours: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 30. 

(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.)

Project Summary:

• Rebuild outside two lanes in both directions of Route 65 between Kearney Street and Sunshine Street
• Route 65 CLOSED in segments (between interchanges) in one direction at a time from week of July 10 until first of September
• Northbound closings COMPLETED
  • Northbound closed between Sunshine Street and Chestnut Expressway week of August 7 -- COMPLETED
  • Northbound closed between Chestnut Expressway and Division Street week of August 14 -- COMPLETED
  • Northbound closed between Division Street and Kearney Street week of August 21 -- COMPLETED
• Southbound closings COMPLETED
  • Southbound closed between Kearney and Division Streets week of July 10 – COMPLETED
  • Southbound closed between Division Street and Chestnut Expressway week of July 17 -- COMPLETED
  • Southbound closed between Chestnut Expressway and Sunshine Street week of July 24 -- COMPLETED
• Rebuild or repair interchange ramps
• Upgrade guardrail
• Rebuild outside shoulders
• Prime Contractor: Millstone Weber, LLC of St. Charles, Mo.
• Completion Date: November 2017
• Total Project Cost: $7.9 million
