Groundbreaking Ceremony Marks Start of Construction on Route 61

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Transportation, St. Charles County and the City of Wentzville will host a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction activities for improvements on Route 61 in St. Charles County.

The ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 7 at 10 a.m. at the commuter lot located at Route 61 and Route P.

The $10.9 million project will remove the Route P and Peine Road crossovers and replace them with a new interchange serving both roads. In addition, the project will convert the crossovers at Grothe Road and both Granville Drives to right in/right out intersections and extend merge and turn lanes.  For more information on the project go to http://www.modot.org/stlouis/major_projects/Route61SafetyProject.htm.
