Highway Commission to Meet Wednesday, Sept. 6.,in Excelsior Springs

Public Invited to Attend

LEES SUMMIT – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission will hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Elms Hotel in Excelsior Springs. 

Mayor Sly James of the City of Kansas City is scheduled to give a presentation about regional transportation including the Buck O’Neil Bridge. Representative Kevin Corlew will also present on the current findings of the 21st Century Transportation Task Force.

“We are pleased to welcome the Commission back to the Kansas City region,” said District Engineer Brian Kidwell. “We are interested in sharing more about the area’s strong partnerships and its future transportation needs. We invite anyone who is interested to attend this meeting.”

The Commission holds meetings in Jefferson City for five months, while the legislature is in session; the other seven months Commission meetings are held throughout the state.
