Multiple OVERNIGHT Ramp Closures in KC Metro Beginning on Sept. 7 at 8 p.m.

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have multiple OVERNIGHT ramp closures beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 through Thursday, Sept. 14 along multiple stretches of road in the Kansas City metro area. For a full list of ramps and closure times, please see the bulleted list below. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and must find alternate routes. These ramp closures are for the application of high friction pavement surface treatment which will improve vehicle traction on wet pavement. All work is weather permitting.

  • The ramp from northbound Interstate 470 to westbound I-70 will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • The ramp from eastbound I-70 to northbound I-470 will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • The ramp from westbound I-70 to southbound I-470 will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • The ramp from southbound I-470 to eastbound I-70 will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • The ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-470 will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11 until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • The ramp from northbound I-635 to northbound I-29 will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. on both Tuesday, Sept. 12, and Wednesday, Sept. 13, until 5 a.m. the following mornings.
  • The ramp from southbound U.S. 169 to southbound MO 9 will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. on both Thursday, Sept. 14, and Friday, Sept. 15, until 5 a.m. the following mornings.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
