Route 76 Bridge Replacements Near Bradleyville

Focus of September 19 Phone-In Meeting

Taney County – The planned construction schedule for the replacement of three bridges on Route 76 between Bradleyville and Brownbranch in Taney County will be the focus of a Sept. 19 phone-in public meeting, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Area residents are invited to call in between 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, to speak with MoDOT experts about the timeline for replacing the bridges over Kentucky, Beaver and Caney creeks. Those interested in the construction timeline can reach a MoDOT representative at 417.829.8008.

Contractor crews are scheduled to start rebuilding the Kentucky Creek bridge east of Bradleyville the week of September 25, with completion by late December.

A temporary gravel bypass will be built for local traffic at the Kentucky Creek bridge.  All other traffic on Route 76 will be directed to the signed detour using Route 125, Taney County Route UU and Douglas County Route T.

Here’s a look at the construction schedule for the three the bridges:

  • Kentucky Creek bridge is scheduled for replacement between September 25 and late December. A temporary gravel bypass will be built at the Kentucky Creek bridge for local traffic. All other traffic must follow the signed detour.
  • Beaver Creek bridge is scheduled for replacement between early February and mid-June 2018. Route 76 east of Taney County Route W will be CLOSED to all traffic during its replacement
  • Caney Creek bridge is scheduled for replacement between mid-June and early October 2018. A temporary gravel bypass will be built at the Caney Creek bridge for local traffic. All other traffic must follow the signed detour.

All three bridges are located between Route 125 at Bradleyville and a point east of Taney County Route W near Brownbranch.

Those unable to participate in the phone-in meeting can visit an online public meeting at www.modot.gov/southwest. Exhibits showing the project locations and the detour routes are available online.

The estimated total cost for the three projects is $4.9 million.

The prime contractor on the project is Emery Sapp and Sons, Inc. of Columbia.
