MoDOT to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss Route 49 Bridge Project in Iron County

SIKESTON—The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 to discuss upcoming improvements to the Route 49 bridge over Big Creek in Iron County. The meeting will be held at South Iron High School in the gymnasium, located at 210 School St. in Annapolis, Mo.

"Visitors can stop-by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to discuss the details of the project with a member of the project team and provide their comments," said Project Manager Pete Berry.

The Route 49 project involves replacing the Big Creek bridge, located approximately 1.5 miles south of Annapolis, Mo. The project is expected to be let in May 2018, with construction anticipated as early as summer 2018. As construction is underway, the roadway will close in the vicinity of the bridge.
