CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close a series of roads and reduce lanes beginning 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 and continuing through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25 for bridge demolition work. This is all part of a project to build a new diverging diamond interchange for I-435 and Route 210, which includes replacing the old twin bridges over I-435 and Route 210 and widening I-435.
Crews will close ALL eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 210, however all ramps will remain open.
Northbound I-435 will be reduced to one lane. The contra-flow lane (traffic flows in the opposite direction of the surrounding lanes) will be the only lane on northbound I-435.
No wide-load tractor trailers should be traveling through this area during this time period.
All work is weather dependent.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
