HAPPENING TODAY: Lane Closures Scheduled for Eastbound I-70 at 23rd Street Beginning Sept. 19
KANSAS CITY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have lane CLOSURES along eastbound Interstate 70 at 23rd Street beginning at approximately noon on Tuesday, Sept. 19 until 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2 . These lane closures are for urgent bridge repairs. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find alternate routes if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
- Eastbound I-70 at 23rd Street will be reduced to ONE LANE at approximately noon on Tuesday, Sept. 19. This double lane closure will conclude before evening rush hour on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
- At approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, eastbound I-70 at 23rd Street will be reduced to TWO LANES and will remain reduced to two lanes until approximately 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
