CANCELED: Nightly Closures Scheduled for Southbound I-470 at Colbern Road Beginning Sept. 20

LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation has CANCELED the rest of its plans for nightly closures of southbound Interstate 470 ONLY at Colbern Road beginning at 8 p.m.  on Wednesday, Sept. 20 until 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23.  Crews were able to complete the work sooner than anticipated. The remaining scheduled nightly closures of southbound I-470 at Colbern Road have been canceled. These closures were for bridge deck preparation work for the Colbern Road Bridge project.

  • CANCELED: There will be a FULL CLOSURE of southbound I-470 at Colbern Road beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • CANCELED: There will be a FULL CLOSURE of southbound I-470 at Colbern Road beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, until 9 a.m. the following morning.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
