LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation has rescheduled its plans for NIGHTLY closures of eastbound Interstate 470 at Douglas Road. This NIGHTLY work will now be beginning 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21. These closures are for bridge deck preparation work as part of the Colbern Road Bridge project. This work was originally scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 25. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
- There will be a FULL CLOSURE of eastbound I-470 at Douglas Road beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, until 5 a.m. the following morning.
- There will be a FULL CLOSURE of eastbound I-470 at Douglas Road beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, until 9 a.m. the following morning.
- Southbound I-470 will not be affected by these closures.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
