***RESCHEDULED***
JACKSON COUNTY – In order to have less of an impact on traffic, the Missouri Department of Transportation has again rescheduled it’s plans to conduct urgent pavement repairs along eastbound Interstate 70 at Route H (mile marker 45). The work will now begin at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, until approximately Friday, Sept. 29, as opposed to the previously stated 9 a.m. start time. Eastbound interstate traffic will be diverted onto the exit and entrance ramps and back onto I-70. Utilization of these ramps will require the closure of Route H at I-70. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find alternate routes if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
Previous Plans: This work was originally scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Due to forecasted rain, it was rescheduled to Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 9 a.m. The work will now begin at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
