FAUCETT, Mo. – As part of the replacement of the Route DD Bridge over Interstate 29 in Buchanan County at Faucett (Exit 35), contractors from Emery Sapp and Sons of Columbia, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, are in the process of reconstructing the ramps at the interchange.
During reconstruction, each set of ramps will be closed, but at no time will both sets be closed. Currently the northbound on and off ramps are closed and access to the outer road (SE 45th Road) and Route DD on the east side of the bridge is also be closed. The northbound ramps were set to reopen on Sunday, Oct. 1, but due to weather, that has been extended until Monday, Oct. 2.
The southbound ramps will be closed almost immediately following the opening of the northbound ramps. During the reconstruction and closure of the southbound ramps, the I-29 frontage road will be accessible from Route DD on the west side of the bridge, but not from the interstate. The southbound ramps are currently anticipated to reopen on or about Oct. 17.
During both sets of ramp closures, at least one lane each direction on I-29 will remain open for through traffic.
