Nighttime Resurfacing Work Planned for Chestnut Expressway

In Springfield Starting the Week of October 1

Greene County – Drivers can expect nighttime lane closings and crews and equipment on Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44) between I-44 and Glenstone Avenue in Springfield starting the week of October 1, the Missouri Department of Transportation said. 

Chestnut Expressway is scheduled to be resurfaced with a new asphalt driving surface. 

Drivers can expect lane closings between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday nights.  Crews also may work Saturday nights to keep the project on schedule. 

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule. 

Blevins Asphalt Company of Mt. Vernon will do the work for a low bid amount of $1.1 million. 

The work is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2017.
