Thank you for your incredible patience during Route 65: THE REBUILD. The project to rebuild the Route 65 pavement between Sunshine and Kearney Streets will last many years into the future.

Expect more work on other sections of Route 65 in Springfield in 2018 and 2019.
The southbound Route 65 bridge over I-44 and sections of the southbound Route 65 pavement between Valley Water Road and Kearney Street will be replaced in 2018. The project also includes rebuilding the southbound ramps at the Route 65/I-44 interchange and southbound Route 65 to Kearney Street. The work will require southbound Route 65 to be closed during much of the construction.
MoDOT continues the planning and design work for rebuilding the Route 65 pavement between Route 60 and Sunshine Street in a project that will be under construction during the summer months 2019.
When these important projects are completed, Route 65 will be in great shape and will last another 40 to 50 years.
Work Scheduled:
- Cleaning up along shoulders and in other areas
Traffic Impacts:
- Crews and equipment close to traffic
- ALL LANES OF ROUTE 65 OPEN during daytime hours

- Rebuild outside two lanes in both directions of Route 65 between Kearney Street and Sunshine Street
- Route 65 CLOSED in segments (between interchanges) in one direction at a time from week of July 10 until first of September
- Northbound closings COMPLETE as of August 27
- Northbound closed between Sunshine Street and Chestnut Expressway week of August 7 – COMPLETED
- Northbound closed between Chestnut Expressway and Division Street week of August 14 -- COMPLETED
- Northbound closed between Division Street and Kearney Street week of August 21 -- COMPLETED
- Southbound closings COMPLETE as of July 30
- Southbound closed between Kearney and Division Streets week of July 10 -- COMPLETED
- Southbound closed between Division Street and Chestnut Expressway week of July 17 – COMPLETED
- Southbound closed between Chestnut Expressway and Sunshine Street week of July 24 – COMPLETED
- Rebuild or repair interchange ramps
- Upgrade guardrail
- Rebuild outside shoulders
