UPDATE: US Route 19 Ramps at US Route 61 Will Temporarily Close for Road Work

Closure expected Thursday overnight

HANNIBAL - All four ramps at the interchange of U.S. 61 and U.S. 19 in New London will close for one night next week between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. so the contractor can remove the existing surface and put down new asphalt.  The contractor will close one set of ramps down at a time during the night time operation (southbound and northbound), and all four will be open by 6 a.m. the next morning.  Weather permitting, the work will be done Thursday night, October 12.  This is one piece of the U.S. 61 resurfacing project between Hannibal and New London.  According to the Missouri Department of Transportation Inspector on the job, everything is going fairly smoothly, and they expect to be completed on or before their contract date of November 1.  One of the final pieces of the project is to complete several turn lanes along the route.  He stated while the workers are out there on the road, he has noticed most motorists slowing down through the work zone.

More information about the project can be found here.
