PLATTE COUNTY – Beginning tonight Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. the Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE lanes and ramps along northbound and southbound I-29 between 112th Street and I-635 at multiple locations for pavement marking. Lanes are scheduled to re-open in time for rush hour at 5 a.m. This work is part of an ongoing paving project on I-29. All pavement work is weather dependent.
Currently the following lanes and ramps will be impacted:
- Two left lanes of NB I-29 will be CLOSED from Route 169 to I-635.
- Ramp from NB 169 to NB I-29 will be CLOSED.
- Two right lanes of SB I-29 will be CLOSED from I-635 to Route 169.
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane under the 169 overpasses.
- Two right lanes will be CLOSED from 112th Street to Kansas City International Airport exit. Exit to airport will remain OPEN.
- Ramp from 112th Street to NB I-29 will be CLOSED.
The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
