HANNIBAL - The Route H bridge replacement over the Cuivre River in Lincoln County is now expected to be completed in mid-November. “The contractor suspended this project to catch up on another project they were working on,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Erik Maninga. “More recently, however, they have experienced some equipment failures, putting them behind even further,” he added. Maninga said the contractor will be assessed monetary damages due to the delay. "Provisions are typically added to contracts to provide disincentives when a project is not completed on time," Maninga noted. "We understand closing a bridge is inconvenient and try to do what we can to minimize the inconvenience," he added.
